He tortures, he murders – and knows no bounds
The BKA team led by profiler Kiran Mendelsohn investigates a brutal murder in Xanten, Westphalia. It soon transpires, however, that the perpetrator has already struck in the USA. Faced with the horror scenario of an emigrated serial killer, Kiran and his team enter into a relentless race against time.

anten is an idyllic small Westphalian town. Even more distrubing for the Germans that here. of all places, an American exchange student is found brutall killed. In coordination with US authorities, team leaders Kiran Mendelsohn and Bolko Blohm are assigned to the case. From now on, they’re reporting to their boss and the FBI. Although the choice of victim seems a bit random, Kiran believes he is dealing with an organized and highly disturbed perpetrator. Before her death, the girl had been cruelly tortured for hours. Kiran’s suspicion is confirmed when a query by his American colleagues in FBI databases unearths links to two identical murders during the past six months in the US states of Virginia and North Carolina.
With that horror-scenario of an emigrated serial killer and the long-feared re-encounter with Quantico in mind, Kiran travels to the US. Together with an old friend and FBI colleague he reopens the cases. Meanwhile, Bolko and the German team investigate in Germany. Things become hectic when another murder takes place on German soil and the dark killer makes contact via Internet chat. Kiran begins to discover striking discrepancies within the typology of classic serial killers. At the same time, he suspects that this contact can only mean one thing: The series of murders is far from over. It is heading for a nasty finale.
